Passport Services

Welcome to the passport services of the Embassy of India, Zagreb, Croatia. Applications for Passport services are received at the Consular Section of the Embassy from 10:00 hours to 12:00 hours on all working days.

THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA HAS DECIDED TO INTRODUCE MACHINE READABLE PASSPORTS (MRPs) w.e.f. 26th AUGUST, 2007.  HENCE, THEREAFTER NO HAND-WRITTEN PASSPORTS WILL BE ISSUED BY THIS EMBASSY.  APPLICATIONS WILL BE FORWARDED BY THE EMBASSY OF INDIA, ZAGREB, TO THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS, NEW DELHI, WHO WILL ISSUE MRPs AND SEND THEM TO US IN DUE COURSE.

Passport Services fee is required to be deposited in cash at the Embassy counter. Application forms and suggested formats for affidavits etc. can be downloaded from this website or obtained from the Consular counter at the Embassy.

New Passports

A new passport can be issued on the expiry, or up to one year before expiry, of any passport, which had an initial validity of 10 years. To apply for a new passport, you need to fill out the relevant application form along with four recent passport-size coloured photographs. You also need to enclose your current or recently expired passport and the fee of Kuna 535.00 for a 36 page passport or Kuna 705.00 for a 60 page passport.

Duplicate Passports in lieu of lost or damaged passport

If you are on a short visit to Croatia or a work permit holder and have lost or damaged your original passport you can approach the Consular Section. You will need to fill out the relevant application form along with 4 recent passport size coloured photographs. You also need to enclose a Police Report regarding lost or stolen passport. You may also provide a photocopy of your lost passport/expired previous passport, or any other document proving your Indian nationality and a brief note under what circumstances you have lost/damaged the passport.  At present, the fees for Duplicate Passports are Kuna 1055.00 for a 36-page passport or Kuna 1,225.00 for a 60-page passport. 

Passports of Children of Indian Origin born in Croatia

Children's name cannot be entered on their parent's passport any more. For a child to be given an Indian passport he must have been registered with the Consular Section of the Embassy within six months of birth. To apply for issue of a new passport to a child you must fill out the relevant application form for a new passport along with four recent passport-size coloured photographs. You also need to enclose passports of both parents and the child's birth certificate, along with a photocopy. The fees for this service are Kuna 195.00 for registration of Child's birth in the Embassy and Kuna 365.00 for a 36 page passport or Kuna 705.00 for a 60 page passport (applicable to minors in the age group of 15-18 years). The passport will have a validity of 5 years. An undertaking duly signed by the parents to this effect is also necessary.

Passports for Minors (under 18 Years)

Original and photocopy of the Birth Certificate issued by the hospital/commune, parents' passports in original and copies, application form, duly filled in and signed, four recent passport size photographs, marriage certificate (if the name of the spouse is not endorsed on the respective passport). Please ensure that column No.16 on page No.3 of the application form is duly filled in and signed by both the parents. The passport fee is Kuna 365.00 for a 36 page passport or Kuna 705.00 for a 60 page passport (applicable to minors in the age group of 15-18 years). The passport will have a 5 year validity or till the minor attains the age of eighteen years, whichever is earlier.

Miscellaneous Services

For Miscellaneous Services (Police Clearance Certificate, Surrender Certificate or any other miscellaneous certificate based on the passport), you will need to fill out the Miscellaneous Service application form, enclose your current valid passport and relevant document (original plus one photocopy) in support of the required service. The fee for each Miscellaneous Service is Kuna 195.00.

Change of Personal Particulars in Passport

This will entail replacement of passport. The applicable fees are Kuna 535.00 for a 36 page passport and Kuna 705.00 for a 60 page passport. Please see the relevant section below to see for requisite documents.

Change in appearance

If your appearance has changed significantly since your last passport was made, you can apply for a fresh passport with a more recent photograph. You will need to fill out the form meant for a new passport along with four recent passport-size photographs. You also need to enclose your current passport. For change in appearance, in case of minor children, parents have to give a certificate affixing photograph of the child and as far as adults are concerned an affidavit signed by the applicant and countersigned by Notary Public/Police etc.

Change of name subsequent to marriage

If your surname has changed subsequent to marriage and you want a new passport in your married name you will need to fill out the form meant for a new passport and an affidavit of change of name. You also need to enclose your current passport, your original marriage certificate with a photocopy and your spouse's passport.

Inclusion of Spouse's Name

Applicants for inclusion of spouse's name in the passport are required to submit original marriage certificate and a copy.

Deletion of Spouse's Name

Applicants for deletion of spouse's name from the passport are required to submit Original Divorce deed/Death Certificate duly attested by the Consular Section of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.

Change of permanent address

Applicants for change of permanent address in the passport are required to submit a written request, in addition to the normal application form.

Change of Name

Application for change of name requires issue of a new passport. Applicants for change of name due to marriage, re-marriage or divorce are required to submit a certified marriage certificate and a joint affidavit in the prescribed format for change of name from husband and wife along with the joined photograph/ divorce deed or death certificate of spouse dully authenticated/ divorce deed authenticated by a court, respectively. In other cases, two original newspaper clippings from newspapers with wide circulation at their normal place of residence in India and an affidavit in the prescribed format for change of name are required.
